New equipment! - Silicon baking mat

Bought a silicon baking mat yesterday. Wanted to buy a Silpat one but it's out of stock. So I bought this non-Silpat from a baking supplies store. It's great! I do not use it as a baking sheet as it is too big to fit into my oven. Anyway, the purpose of buying it is to use it to roll out doughs, so that I will not roll directly on my kitchentop and scratch it.

It comes with measurements for cakes as well as metric length measurements at the side. Definitely useful! :D

New addition!

Not baking, but not totally out of action. I bought an oven thermometer yesterday. First step to ensuring the temperature's always right (especially when my oven is getting old..)!

My Very Own Kitchenaid!

I got my Kitchenaid mixer!!!!!

Have been drooling and hoping to get one but it's expensive here! Usually costs about SGD899 or SGD 750+ if they have a promotion.

2 days back, I saw a newspaper ad, that the distributor is having a factory sale. They sell many other stuff like hobs and hoods, ovens, refrigerators etc, but I was not interested. I rushed there during lunch time to see if they had any sale for Kitchenaid...and there were a few display sets for sale! They were on display in showrooms before or used for demos previously, hence the cheaper price they are selling now. Comes with 6 months warranty instead of 1 year for a brand new one.

There were only 4 sets - 1 red one, 2 cobalt blue ones and a white one. The blue and red ones were nice but they had much more scratches and deeper dents than the white one I chose. The one I chose has a small dent at the bottom but I feel that is fine with me. They were all selling at SGD559. There was a bigger one, which usually sells for SGD1088 and was there for SGD779. I am tremendously happy. White would be a colour I would choose if I were to buy a brand new one. I like Pistachio, blue, yellow, red and grey too.

Was a little worried about my husband's reaction after my purchase because now that we will be having our own place soon, our priority is to get necessary items for our house first. Nevertheless, this was just a chance that I don't wanna miss, and fortunately, he understands how much I like it. :D

My Scanpan Muffin Tray!

It is quite strange how the GSS this year does not entice me very much. In fact, I have only bought a pair of shorts and a top from G2000 and that is IT! The rest of the time, I have been spending more on baking what-nots instead.

On Friday, I saw a newspaper ad on Isetan's 35th anniversary sale and it got me excited like crazy.

This is my purchase.

YES! My muffin tray! I have been contemplating for so long whether to get one, and here it is! It is not only a muffin tray. It is a silicone muffin tray....it's Scanpan....and it's $54.90...BEFORE discount!!! Thank goodness for Isetan's whopping 35% discount, it was about $35 after discount, and after using a $5 voucher, I paid about $30 for it. What a steal!

Well, but unless you are a sucker for such stuff like me, you will not understand why a muffin pan can get me excited and jumping up and down!

Next week's program: to start using my new muffin tray! Yahhooooo!
